I have to comment on the latest addition to my collection, a knife that I find to be everything a custom should be, tactical and on par with heavy use Busse, Strider and Merxworxs knives. The new Reese Weiland Covert dual action, serial no. 1 has been released to me and it is simply fabulous. If we all were in a situation where we could only take one knife with us, what would it be? I know mine would be the Scout, and the specs are listed as to why, as well as pictures. Sometimes we overlook true talent.
With a Titanium Framelocked folder, of this caliber and oversize locking mechanisms as well as the blade dimensions, makes this a favorite. OAL is 9" with a 4" blade. Choice of covert scale release or button with manual studs. This setup assures that the knife will not fail to open. Once opened, it is unbelievable fast and open strength that compares to a fixed blade knife. The blade is S30V recurved and rippled at the top rear of the blade for a good grip when doing fine work. The handle is a matching ripple linen micarta. I have also posted pictures of the first Scout with the button release, still dual action for reliability. Second post below shows the original with button as opposed to covert scale release. Kudos to Reese Weiland.
Please take a look at the pics and post what your one choice would be.
Thanks,
Ixsnay

Here are the pics of the button release as opposed to a covert scale release. All other specs are the same. S30V steel, rippled handle and top of blade, oversize rear of blade that is recurved.

While discussing Reese Weiland knives, I cannot help but post a Damasteel and Mammoth Ivory Rastor. This knife is simply (literally) off the wall since it is not over adorned but instead looks like a knife of earlier times with the Devin thomas Stainless Reptilian Damascus for the blade and bolster. Dual action as well.
