I may just have found the only knife that would make me put my Sebenza's up!
The Reese Weiland GTD is a 'benza on steroids! I just received #28 today from Phil at www.2thehilt.com and to say I'm happy with it would be a definate understatement. I had been looking at this knife for some time now and when another knife deal fell through I decided to go for this one. Boy am I ever glad the other fell through.
The GTD has a full clip blade of ATS-34 steel that is 3/16" thick. There are deep hollow grinds on this one. The titanium handles are a bit over .125 thick but due to being slightly rounded end up at 1/8" at the edges. The rounded handles are mighty comfortable in the hand. It is a integral lock with tip down carry. The lock covers about half on the thick blade tang so there is plenty of room for any wear that might occur. The thumb ramp is nicely notched with some diagonal cuts that allow a good rest but doesn't bite the thumb. Fit and finish is top notch with the blade being perfectly centered upon closing and lock up being rock solid, read this as Sebenza solid. These are two points that I check first on any folder. The weight of this knife reminds me of a ti framed Crawford Kasper so I guess it is around 6 to 7 ounces. Not too heavy but I would not want it any more. Blade is ATS 34 and razor sharp with a length of about 3.75".
The clip is reminescient of the MT clip with 2 screws and is mounted as close to the top of the handle as possible so you get a deep ride.
As I stated in my opening this is the first custom I've had that would seriously make me consider leaving the house WITHOUT a Sebenza somewhere on my body! I think that probably sums it up best!!
