Just a quick request if any of you folks have these three knives to post a shot of them side by side

BK-2, BK-16, BK-15

Right now I have the BK-15, love it, and also a BK24 but looking to get one or maybe both of the BK-2 or BK-16

Some photos may help me out with that decision.

Thanks in advance!

What do you intend to do with the new knife? The 16 & 2 are vastly different.

... looking to get one or maybe both of the BK-2 or BK-16

Standard Beckerhead answer - "Get BOTH!"

Google is your friend - BK2 BK16 ;)

From AlexWitte's 3/14/13 thread ...

Nice guys, appreciate those!

and as to what my plans are, it varies ;) I know the BK-15 but wasn't sure how things compared side to side, and this will help give me some things more to ponder about.

Nice shots there! thanks and I'm thinking more now of the BK-2 as the BK-15 I already have would be a lighter duty knife like the BK-16, if it gets too much with the trailing point, I could always bring that point down lower.

Thanks!

I like the 5 (not pictured) and 15 for slicing. The 2, 16 and 24 for dicing.;)

I finally ordered a 16 and am pretty excited about it. I had a 2 on loan and it was just to thick of a blade a 1/4". It really was not up to par with task other than hacking at stuff. I much prefer a thinner blade like the 16 or the 7 I have. try slicing an apple with a 2 and you will see it break apart into many pieces. I don't mean to dog on the 2, but for me it just wasn't very useful as a knife. I would rather have a good cutter and a hawk or small camp axe.

Thanks guys and Greebe, nice looking 16 there, very tempting as well. I know what you mean about the BK-2 being a thick blade, it's just so dang rugged a knife.
My daughter did get me a BK-2 for Christmas, the order had been cancelled for some reason but she re-ordered it and it has arrived, and it is one tuff looking knife indeed !!!

Don't let the haters detour you! The 2 is an amazing blade! I use mine every time I go up north.

And it _can_ do fine work ;) you just need to get creative with it. Scoring your cuts ahead of time for fine work seemed to work for me when I used my 2 to make this:

Yeah, if I just pushed the 1/4 inch thick blade through it would of split it... but that's not the point. If you use a little finesse there is nothing you can't do with a 2.

Some people also complain about the weight  but I'll tell you this; When you hold it in your hand... You 'feel' the knife.

Or just bury the full blade into a piece of wood and use that thickness to split it ;)

Oh and some comparison pictures :D

I agree, it is a working knife for sure, my daughter dropped mine off today, but I have to get her to return it, the curved area had some grinding problems that goes in too far, so sending it back and hopefully the next will be ok. It's ground back into the thicker area of the tip, too much to mess with on my stones to get it to be proper :( I really really really hated to tell her that, some days you win, some days just takes a little longer ;)
