Hi, I just sanded the finish from a knife with Dymondwood scales and wondering if anyone has ever put a finish on them and what they used.
I didn't take the scales off the knife just sanded them down by hand to 600 grit. The finish that was on the scales was to slick. This is on a fixed blade knife made for skinning.
Thanks KC

Dymondwood does not require an external finish. It is usually polished on a buffing wheel.
I can't imagine 600 grit being much rougher to the touch.
If you don't want to polish it you can put on a coat of paste wax-but it will get slicker.
