Refinishing a benchmade?

So I scored a 9050 auto off Craigslist for 50 bucks. It's well used but the blade sharpened right up and the mechanism is rock solid. I'd like to refinish the blade and the scales. I was thinking that black grill paint would do fine, and then I thought I may do it bright green. Has anyone else custom painted there benchmade? I'm also concerned that if I take it apart I won't get it back together.

If it's an axis, they are pretty straight forward if you just want to take the blade out. No need to disassemble the lock.

Also, take a look at the modified Benchmade thread in the Benchmade forum. I don't recall seeing a painted blade, but I haven't looked at every single knife.

*Take this with a grain of salt* I, have "painted" some knives with truck bed liner. I use a self etching primer and then light coats of the liner coating. It stands up to pocket wear but will not take impacts very well. it can be touched up easily though.
