I am refinishing a stacked leather handle. It was originaly finished with shellac or varnish of some sort. What would you recommend to get the same look?

Thank you.

You can always coat with supper glue, it'll seal the leather and will buff up like glass.

I like Pinoy's idea.I have used regular leather sealer in the past, but the beeswax should penetrate as good as the superglue but would probably still give the leather a positive grip "feel" after rubbing. I beleive the superglue treatment would be especially good for a display knife. My 1 cent's worth, anyhow.

What Will said. It soaks in real fast. Just sand in a shoeshine fashion, and top with some Kiwi shoe wax, and buff. It will still be grippy. I've refinished a lot of leather handled knives, and this method seems to work the best for me.
