I'm a recently renewed Platinum member and just reset the group permission properly, but can't start a thread in the Knifemaking Supplies & Tools for sale forum. I used to be able to. What gives? THANKS!

Subscriptions have changed. You must now have a Knifemaker membership to start threads in the Knifemakers Exchange.

Bummer. Too bad. Even for the supplies and tools section? Weird. How can I upgrade to knifemaker? I see it costs $10 more than Platimum now.

Edit: It says in #4 of this sticky (Rules for the Exchange forums - Updated 10/9/2011) in the Supplies & Tools for sale forum: PLATINUM or GOLD MEMBERS - Platinum or Gold members are allowed to post in any of the Individual For Sale or Trade forums. What's up with that then?

It would be a challenge for me to drop another 60 bucks right now. I just spent $50 to renew. What is the policy on prorated refunds? And then I could buy the knifemaker one?

Phil, I believe Spark will apply the unused portion of your new membership towards a knifemaker membership. You'll need to ask him to do that if you decide to go that route.

As far as gold and platinum members being able to "post" in those threads, that's exactly what you can do — post. Not start new threads.

Platinum members haven't been able to put threads into the Knifemaker section for going on 2 years now. If you need your membership prorated, I'll do so

Thanks Spark. Hmmm, I've only sold stuff a few times, but sold a bunch of Blade magazines as recently as Sep 2011 there. Yes, please prorate the unused portion of my platinum membership into a knifemaker membership. THANKS so much! Aloha, Phil

You're probably better off starting a new thread asking to be prorated. Not sure why it works that way, but it does seem to work that way.
