Hello,

I purchased my Crawford Design BM Leopard Cub sometime in the mid to late 90's, and it has served me well until 2yrs agol I got stupid on a dark night on a highway in a cold rain and I snapped the tip off....

Does Benchmade offer a service to refurb a knife? I didnt find anything on the website..

I dont know how I feel about regrinding the blade, its a big piece missing.. Also, the 2 screws that hold the handle on are gone, only the pivot screw keeps it together..

Suggestions? Retire? Sell? is it even worth anything?

you could easily turn that into a reverse tanto, wharncliffe style blade if you wanted to.

The full size Benchmade Crawford Leopard is one of my all time favorites, but I'm sort of thinking you've gotten more than your money's worth out of this Cub. Lots of nice new knives out there .. :D

I would call benchmade . If they can't fix it they might give you credit for a new knife.

you might get lucky and bm has a replacement blade, they are around $35 bux,but regrinding the tip is what i would do..............

I have the same knife. The blade is pointy to begin with and have you asked yourself if the blade is modified would the new length meet your needs? (much smaller blade) Benchmade would be the way I would go. Good luck.

This knife has been out of production for a long time. Maybe they have a replacement blade somewhere in the factory...best thing would be to call them at 800-800-7427 and ask for their input, which I'm sure you'll get whether yes or no...good luck!

Thanks for all the comments...

I will give them a call (thanks for the number too!) and see what can happen... The knife has enough sentimental value that i would be willing to spend some cash to get a new blade and then store it.... I will post results..

I have a bunch of new toys coming in the mail which will give me a chance to post some more pics and proudly some things....

i would try calling BM but i doubt they will have a blade, who knows though, in the shape your knife is in its not worth as whole lot imho.

Well, Benchmade was no help... They dont have any extra blades and that about all they said....

I wonder how hard it would be for me to shape a new one? I have lots of files, a nice drill press and even a little 1x30 belt sander...........
