Refurb of my True Temp Tomahawk Hatchet

I've been bothering you all with pics and questions about my True Temper Tomahawk Axe. I've been thinking about getting a small axe and figured I'd turn this one into it. The head weight 1.6 lbs.

Originally, it was on a 14" handle.

I ordered a premium 18" handle from Handle House. I cleaned up the head and made a really quick sheath for it. I put a fast edge on it, still needs a little work. Here is the finished axe with one coat of BLO.

How did I do on my Rehang? This is the second time doing it. Is there anything noticeable I should have done different?

Looks real good and I think you made a wise choice putting that hatchet on an 18" handle. Those TT Tommy Axes and Tomahawks are heavy little beasts and they are underhung on the stock 14" handles, IMO. They are a great weight for a 'house axe' or kindling hatchet. They pack a heckuva punch.

If you want to hear a teeny tiny nitpick then you could reduce the hump under the poll a bit. But you've got it down pretty good. Several of my favorite hangs aren't as nice as that.

Looks good, I'm fond of of these heads, I recently rehung my tomahawk head as well, on an octagonal 19" house axe haft. I'lll post some pictures later on, it should make a nice light pack/ camping axe.
