refurbish a Buck 110?

I have a 110 that I've really beaten the heck out of over the years. However the edge has always held up admirably. What I'd like to do is take it apart, clean everything up and put it back together. Hopefully with the original scales. I don't want to make it look new; I say the scratches and chipped tip add character, heh. But the brass is filthy and more importantly, it feels like there's a bucket of gravel inside it when you open it. (years of back-pocket carry). NorthWoods "BreakAway" spray helped a lot, but I feel I owe it to the knife to return it to peak performance.
Is this a feasible project or should I just go spend $50 on a new one?

I think you can find a new 110 for a lot less than $50, I would buy a new one.

I'm pretty sure you can send it back to Buck for reconditioning and resharpening for something like 5 bucks. Ask 'em on the Buck forum over here. You may have to specify that they leave the nicks and scratches though, or it might come back too new-looking. :)

grrr... I went to the Buck website and now I'm almost convinced to just buy a new custom 110 lol.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and do a forum jump to the Buck Forum. Then search for "mail" on the buck forum or "replace", or post your question there. Buck will sure nuff fix it or replace it if you can get through the hassle of mailing it in.

OK, never mind my advice above....
This is the shipping address. Buck recommends the "initials only" on the address to reduce pilferage.
