refurbishing or not

just picked these two 152UH's up and they are in semi rough shape. i thought as a nice thing to us novices it might be good to get suggestions on how to restore these lovely straight blades to the glory they so deserve.
the scabbard came with the 252539 and the 236091 came sans scabbard.
on a second note i know how the serial numbers run in the LB7 series as far as dates, do these have the same history as to manufacturing runs. i know the serial numbers will not have the same dates as the LB 7 but was just wondering.

Personally I would refurbish. I have two ;a carbon steel and a stainless; A product called flitz metal polish got alll the rust off and got the blade shiny and also the brass. Each to there own but I like them looking like new. If the blades are really bad, you need to use fine and I mean extremly fine grit sand papaer first like, 1500 grit.

the older i get my fingers seem to have their own idea of what they type. they are indeed 153UH's. duh now back to the serial numbers anyone have any idea of what time frame the numbers represent?
