Reg. Lg. Seb. Born 1/2000 - BG42 or S30v ??

Title pretty much says it. I am wondering about a large regular Sebenza born on 1/2000. Does that date determine whether it is BG42 or S30v?

I think it might be BG42. I believe it has only been a couple years since the change. Don't quote me on that.I seen some Sebbys listed with BG42 brand new and inquired about it with CRK.Heather told me they switched,and I thought she said three years ago maybe,not 100%.

Take it apart. If theres an S somewhere around the pivot hole in the blade then its S30V, if not...BG42...My guess is this one IS BG42

BG-42 blades were used from 10/96 through the end of 2001.

I had thought there might have been some overlap of BG42 and S30v in the year 2000, but I guess not.

CRK switched to S30V in Jan 02.

For a short time, after releasing S30V, CRK did make some knives using BG-42 - to exhaust existing stock on hand.

bg-42, my favorite sebbies are all from 2000. Thats when I got the sickness. When the classic was re-introduced I went a little silly. I still have a few of those.
