As i stated in one of the sales threads:

Folks.....

There shouldnt be any catch and release scenarios going on in these sales. Only post here and email Yangdu with an "I'll take it" if you are absolutely sure you want and can pay for the item that day. By catching and releasing you are potentially costing her sales and definately causing more work than necessary for a lady who already has too much going on.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/770718-Deal-Of-The-Day-Update

Auntie Yangdu is ONE person. One person dealing with multiple emails for the same item. Then she packs them for shipment and gets them off to the post office in a timely manner, usually the same day as ordering.

Apparently some of you are sending emails requesting items and even making payment and then cancelling the order......

This should not be happening.
Only send an Email if you are absolutely sure you want the Item in the first place.

The net effect of not doing so is that she must take the time to chase your emails and do refunds and adjustments, rather than making sales, getting them packed and then shipped, which delays sales and delays shipping.

It also costs her sales, because the item appears no longer for sale to someone who actually did wish to purchase the item.

It also causes confusion and accidental shipping after the order has been cancelled. In this case you must refuse delivery and have it returned to the sender.

Please do her the courtesy of not having to go thru all of this.

Your Cooperation in this is much appreciated.

Karda,

I wholeheartedly endorse your comments. As someone in a different time zone (UK) I don't always find it easy to catch the DOTD when posted. As a result ,I miss out on some items already "sharked" (or appear to be).

It is only when,a few days later , that I notice the item is not marked sold that I realise the original "purchaser " has pulled out, giving me an opportunity to make a late bid.

I am convinced the practice of claiming an item then cancelling is costing sales to Yangdu, and that seems to me a great shame. It is only common courtesy to play by the forum rules.

Common courtesy would be to post "email sent on XXXXX" if you are actually trying to buy the item. If there you have time, a follow up, "Woohoo! I sharked the XXXXX" is a nice touch if you get a confirmation email from Yangdu and would like to let us know the item is no longer available/rub our noses in it;) Certainly not a have-to thing, but nice.

Personally, I wouldn't fault Yangdu in the least if she charged a 15-20% restocking fee for cancelled orders. I can understand returns. Sometimes the shoe just doesn't fit. However, putting her out the time to pack the item, address it, and potentially ship it as well as update the forum is money out of her pocket if you welsh on a deal. I know at my place of business I charge 15% plus freight cost if someone special orders a part/item and returns it. If it's unique enough that I don't stock it or my supplier doesn't have it on hand, then I shouldn't have to eat the cost of shipping back something or sitting on it because the person found it for 2 pennies cheaper online. My time is valuable.

I am guilty of this and I greatly apologize. The excitement of "first come, first served" gets in my head and I think "I CAN'T MISS OUT!" even when I don't have the funds. My eyes tend to be bigger then my bank account. I want to apologize to Yangdu and to the forum for catching and releasing in the past.
I will work on my itchy trigger finger, it is hard with such a fine product and the quickness of the sharks. But I won't let my unprofessionalism cost Yangdu more profits. I won't ever send an email again unless I am ready to pull the trigger (something I should have done from the start).
My apologies.
I love this product.

No sweat, Daniel:) We have all done it a time or two. There have been more than a few times when I have ordered something then said, "Ughhh how am I going to pay for that?" usually followed by "without my wife finding out":D

I am responsible for this too. I emailed for one, and STILL want it.. but unfortunately about an hour after I emailed her, my computer went down. After finding a way to get online the next day, I couldn't access my means to pay, and was stuck on the phone with customer service. I thought it was unfair that she would have to await my payment.. possibly for several days while my little bank snafu was sorted, and so I felt I had to cancel to give someone else the chance.
I do sincerely apologize, and am sorry for any difficulty I have caused.

Plus... I REALLY wanted the one I sharked.. argh.

I hope tomorrow my account has been fixed and everything resolved.
And I hope my computer is fixed as well.

And I really wanted that knife.

Ok I'll stop whining.

My apologies.

I know the feeling... I was stressing how to explain the CAK the other day when I saw that it had been sharked out of my grasp anyways.

I have a hard time understanding how anyone could possibly think "sold---I'll take it" and then realize they are too broke for something that costs less than $200 bucks (probably 100 or less). Besides being inconsiderate that is very irresponsible. Hopefully this thread will cut back on it.

My wife started complaining about #7 or 8 back in July. My solution was to start getting stuff shipped to my shop.

When your buying 4-5 in a shot and trying to do it in a hurry it is easy to lose track of the math. I just did it. Don't consider myself inconsiderate or irresponsible. I do make mistakes though.

No need for apologies, folks....
Just please consider just how much work is put into this one aspect of the forum by Auntie Yangdu.
It is just one single aspect amongst the many that she must deal with in only so many hours of the day.

When the effort to send an "i'll take it" by email is received by Auntie, it is expected that you've given your word as bond and will pay for the item promptly and it is sent as requested. If one is having difficulty in payment, It is expected that you contact Auntie immediately and possibly she may hold the item for you if you are absolutely going to pay for it. She reserves the right to decide.

I learned long ago that I should have all of my "toys" shipped to my office, and that the credit card statement used to purchase said toys should go directly to the capable hands of my bookkeeper;) I really does keep things smooth at home:)

Can auntie yangdu hire somebodyto help her? Find a helping hand to assist her on the logistic side of the business while she attends on the promotional, advertisement, forums dotd sales etc.
