Regarding patinas on a finished WWII model kukri

Yes. Many folks have done that. Variety of methods to accomplish it. I'm no authority on metal. I did do an apple cider vinegar treatment on a KLVUK.

K&C, Playing the Devil's Advocate here and most assuredly, not trying to rain on your parade, but why put a faux patina on a blade versus just using it to get it that way? Plant juice and sap tarnish a shiny blade rather quickly and the resultant scratches speed things along. Don't get me wrong, as I've put my share of false patinas on blades over the years, but unfortunately, it seems like about 90% of the time the wear on the blade and sheath does not match up with the amount of patina created and many people can tell right off it's not "natural". You want a dullish appearing blade, get thee a "villager"and save you some work. Still, if it makes you happy, do it anyway. I do.
