I can't hold my tongue any longer. Are you guys really buying this "Special Forces Cook" thing? Not to mention the changing of FIRST names for operational security reasons!?!? C'mon!!! some of these guys are playing many of you for suckers.
My two cents.
you did say this right  it stood out to me

I need to clarify a couple of things. I did not mean to imply that these knives were not going to combat theatres, or getting into hands of soldiers assigned to or attached to special ops units. What I'm saying is that these are not the soldiers who are most deserving of a handout. I've been there more than once, done they are doing, I know what I'm talking about. Some people forget about "quiet professionalism" when they stand to benefit from bragging. Most in our community are 4 time volunteers, and we do not need to throw around the names of units, people, equipment that the rest of you only know from the Discovery Channel. When people hear some of those things, they are impressed and want to feel part of the team, so they will gladly "support the troops" with a handout. I can't stress enough, what I'm saying is continue to support, but give the handout to someone who needs it!
I also received an email from the guys on the team receiving these knives. I replied telling him that I am not trying to put down him, his team, or anything they do. We are on the same team. Again, it's just my two cents, and maybe I'm not expressing it very well.

yeah that's it...
this is what Roger picked to do,, give your knives where you want to give your knives to.. simple right
I have knives in the troops hand in other places... begrudge someone else of their kindness I say..

I have made other knives for people i know that have gone over there, and tho i was glad to make them i also wanted to make one for someone i didnt know, and Roger was kind enough to be setting up things i couldnt, so i am more than happy he did what he did, it doesnt really matter any specific group or branch (i was in the Marine Corps by the way) got it, i just wanted to contribute something to someone doing a really dangerous and often overlooked or forgotten job. I want to thank Roger for what he has set up, like i said, i believe he has gotten my knife somewhere i probably never could have without his help.

"with tail tucked"? Not likely. Do you have special operations experience? You likely just don't understand.

You were the same guy who got upset because I got free Laser eye surgery because I am in the special operations community. Remember that one?

tail tucked ,understanding again ,as in,, changed your tune... upset about Laser surgery No I told you I wished I we had that option when i was in back in 1973 back then it wasn't done.. come to think of it I didn't need it back then..

I've been here and there too Whit there are many things one should not talk about
,, I understand a little better than you think..

you by the sounds of it you don't understand what Roger is doing and why..sure there are thousands of guys that could use a free knife...
Roger picked this way to go..it's his project,, why or how can you knock it?? it wasn't the place for it...
like he said if you have a problem with it,, do your own project..
simple as that..as a mater of fact why didn't you start your own thread ? Just was not the place for it...
