that they are going back into production apart from the limited run?

Reason I ask is that my modded BK9 might want a little brother, and the BK10 would lend itself nicely to similar mods :)

It's lines are basically the same as the BK9 and I think it would make a nice mini-fighter. I'm not going to try and get my hands on an older one or a limited run and then chop it up....so this would be contingent on the possibility of a regular production BK10.

I remember a post Tooj made in a thread about machetes a few months back, as I recall he said it's gonna happen, obviously no time frame was given. I'll see if i can find the thread.

Well that's good news. I can wait, but it's nice to have the hope that it will happen. In the meantime I'll have to work on making some micarta so I don't have to keep buying $40 sets of scales :p

Good one dude.:D

After having made 4 or 5 sets myself I realize what a freaking bargain those Ka bar ones are.

Unless there's a color you just gotta have, or you just want the satisfaction of having done it.

Excellent, thanks for the link. I'll be looking forward to them getting released. Shortly thereafter keep an eye out for a mod thread ;)

Haha, well you make a good point. I really enjoy making the scales and not only that but I'm experimenting with making some that are layers of leather instead of canvas/linen/fiberglass. I'm pretty optimistic at this point, so we'll see how it works out.

I'm pretty damn dumb, Those sets of micarta I've made Have been a real PITA to do, very time consuming. I get folks all the time wanting me to make them for them and it's just a time vampire . I get to cussing myself out everytime I do a set but then I'll do another set, thats where the dumb part comes in. I'll probly do a couple more in the fall. May play around with paper micarta. I've got a pair of the capt.'s brown pants I may do a set from. Maybe a 2000 post giveaway or something. Own a part of the capt's pants or something like that. Haven't checked to see if she's cool with it though.

Yeah, I'm gonna keep messing around with several different materials as a base for the material. I also am gonna be buying some ghost jade g10 to mess around with. If you can come up with the money (assuming you don't have one already), an osscillating spindle sander makes it a LOT easier. A friend has one I got the chance to use and it would take 90% of the headache out of the process.

Funny thing is I don't own any of the tools, i use them at work, you know in between customers. Keep an eye out for some bright green micarta someone is doing around here. But yeah I've used the Osc. spdl sander quite a bit. with the wood handles. The resin I use is too soft for a spidle sander though, kinda melts and gums up the paper.

Mine did ok with it, I just turned the RPMs way down and went really slow. The thought even crossed my mind about putting the material in the freezer first, but I think it would just heat up with the friction so fast it would be a waste of time.

Duno if you got the cash laying around now and a quick dial finger but there will be limited run of the camillus blanks going to the public in august if the BHs don't scoop em all up.

you can wait? like many years from now wait?

buy a BK7 and cut it down to a BK10 :) fastest, cheapest way. you're doing mods ANYWAY :> in fact, it's been done, sorta :>

otherwise, you're to have to buy an old BK10 or wait a ... while ... for the new ones.

good luck :>

I may have to do this...but I kinda had another plan for the 7....

buy another 7... or buy a 10 when they're up for general sale? or hope to score one on the forums (though probably over $150), some have scored a few cheap, but people will probably go a long time hunting.

Yeah, I'll cut down a 7 or wait. Not going to cut up a out of production model.
