For those of you who enjoy Maxpedition products, I received official word from Maxpedition today that the 12X5 Bottle Holder will be re-released later this year. The guestimated eta is 3 months.

Great piece of kit! To put the size into a common reference, you can put a 2 liter soda bottle into the 12X5 with ease.

Not to hyjack this thread but i was wondering if anyone knows the names of alternate "knock off" maxpedition brands. The reason i ask is i cant afford Maxpedition at this time and was hoping for a cheaper alternative. Im specificallly looking for the bottle holder exactly like the Maxpedition just a diff brand. Ive seen them just dont know the name. Thanks a bunch.

condor make copys of maxped products about 1/3 the cost, i have a few small pouches from them and im suprised at the quality, the only thing wrong with them was the zipper pulls sucked but i replaced them with paracord.

Many people find the Tad Gear bottle holder more to their liking. It will hold the larger containers that the Max-P 12X5 does.

Have they addressed any of the user complaints and tweaked it?

I know that there have been discussions between Maxpedition and people of note regarding the design, but I do not know if any changes have been made. But I will see if I can find out for you.

funny, I spoke w/ Maxpedition early in the week inquiring about the possibility of bringing back the 12x5- much to my surprise they said it was already in the works- this validates it- thanks :)

Maxpedition says the design will remain the same for now.
I know some folks have expressed concern over the padding, but it is an effective insulation which, down here where it is steaming hot during the summer, means the difference between water at a drinkable temp and water that is just too hot to refresh.
Some folks also have wished for a larger external pouch, which is understandable, but you can always attach more pouches.
Thats the update!
