Just to make sure . This is a thread about registering them in Canada .
I spoke with a fellow archer I know who happens to be a police officer . I asked him how the recent tragedy at Dawson College would affect the recently removed registration law . He stated he didn,t think it would be affected .
Not only did he personally think registration was not a good idea he said the Dawson College killer,s guns were registered and it hadn,t stopped him .
Something Munk said has got me thinking as well . It was about heavy regulations and screening processes just creating an :Us against them : kind of attitude . Now that Munk mentioned it, it almost seemed like a :divide and conquer: approach .
I know hunters are not respected as much anymore . In the big city where I live a dead animal would be seen as an oddity . I,ve scraped a couple of skins in my backyard and actually had to tell one neighbor what it was , where it came from . I,m not talking about from a deer and out of what woods . I,m saying they did not recognize it as part of an animal . I could almost hear nose cartilage being torn out as it turned up in disgust . (it was a little stinky.)
I guess values change . Honestly I don,t see what they value so maybe there is some kind of prejudice on both sides .
Would I tell my neighbor I have firearms ? I do try to educate on a friendly level . It almost seems like there is a :you can,t get there from here : Gulf .
I do let them know I have bows and arrows which they are amused by and perhaps they feel less threatened .
