Registering to use forums at spyderco.com?

I tried to register over at spyderco.com but it wouldn't let me. The only email address I have is a free web based one and they don't let you use that for spam prevention.

They had a contact if you had trouble registering and I haven't heard anything back and that was a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know if there is a secret handshake or something so I can get registered over there? Been a few times that I would have liked to throw in my 2 cents but couldn't.

Thanks!

Yep. We almost never have spammers on the factory forum since free e-mail accounts have to be manually activated by Kristi. Plenty of people there have registered using free e-mail addresses once they convince her they are legitimate. But be aware that Kristi has many hats to wear so she travels a lot, and it may take a while for her to get to you. You also have to get your e-mail to her through the spam filters, so if you haven't heard back in a week, you probably should try again.

I have the same issue so I don't bother with spyderco forum.

I'd be interested also.

Please send me an e-mail at khunter@spyderco.com, include the User Name you'd like to have and your birth date and I'll take care of the rest. I can't promise it'll be within one day, but I will promise I'll get you set up as soon as I can.

I have been traveling this month and ended up in hotel with virtually no internet service for a week. I'll admit between that and fiscal year end for the government, I'm playing a little catch-up.

Hope this helps.

Kristi

I tried years ago and it didn't work and I haven't bothered with them since.

Why not? I mean if you'd really like to contribute to the forum. Send Kristi an email, it's a couple of posts up from yours.
I'm sure it was nothing personal, probably just got missed. That happens. They are very good people.

Hope Spyderco landed some of those "we gotta spend it NOW! or they'll cut our budget next year" $$$$'s that government agencies always seem to have at the end of their fiscal year. :D:D:D

I had to do the same thing and they set me up in a day. I've regretted that choice every time I pull out my credit card to pay for a new Spydie purchase. The forum there and this one does evil things to my wallet.
