I know that at least a few people were waiting for me to make a few sheaths with a loop for in the pocket carry. Unfortunately, last night my eyelet press had a catastrophic event which has turned it into the biggest paperweight on my bench. I had gotten a few basic molds done, and when I went to the eyelet press, the dyes were jammed in and I needed to switch them to a different set. I asked my friend, Matt, to get them out for me and handed him the other set to put in. I heard him wrenching around for a second and then I heard "bink!"..."Oh s@#$. I think I just f@#$%d you press up." I looked at it and the dye broke inside the hole and it won't come out. I'll try to drill it out, but I don't know how long it's going to be before I can and even then, I don't know how it's going to turn out. What I do know is that I don't have enough money for another one and another set of dyes. So for right now, the sheaths are on hold. Sorry guys.

On the other hand... my knife making is coming right along so at least I can still have fun in my shop.

Sorry to hear that, any chance it comes from a company that carries a warranty close to RAT's?

:D good luck and have fun making knives

It does, but it was a user problem and not a manufacturing defect. Even though I could probably get it covered under the warranty, I know it was our fault and it just wouldn't seem right to me to do that.

eh. No big deal. I have a bunch of knives I need to concentrate on anyways.

Contact the press maker. The rams are usually replaceable. Sometimes they can be reversed and you can use the other end :)

Thanks Bill. I'll get ahold of the maker next week. Got my mother coming into town so I'm gunna have enough on my plate for the next week. lol. ...not in a bad way. My mommy just likes to go out to restaurants and pubs all the time, so I'll always either be drunk or hung over whilst she's here.:D

Not directly calling you a puss or anything:D

But I've been setting my rivets for years on the concrete floor of my shop with a ball peen hammer and a 99cent grommet curling die.

You and you fancy shmancy presses and your plaid dresses.:D

Apparently I need to come hang out with you and your moms! :D

Depending on where in NC you live, I might need to come hang out with you. I know a girl in Wilmington that could ruin my marriage. lol

It always comes back to the kilt. You know, you guys make fun of me about that, but that kilt has gotten me laid more than once.

...at the same time in a holding cell.:(

Don't listen to them-you need the kilt if you are going to practice taint carry. Otherwise you just wouldn't be able to get to it in a timely manner!
