Regrind Possible on Cold Steel Safemaker?

Hey boys..not long ago, I got a Cold Steel Safemaker I. Fairly long blade for its type--approx. 4 inches. Chisel-ground and double-edged. As a dagger, it has a very thick geometry. Good thruster, poor slicer. It makes me wonder if it would be possible to regrind it with some sort of bastard grind--a combination of hollow on the bulk of the angled sides of the blade, to improve slicing ability, yet keep the thick tip, as in the Bud Nealy Pesh Kabz.
