I did regrind Endura ZDP189 to make edge thin which I consider more appropriate for this great knife and this great steel:

Second time (after I did the same for Delica) it is much easy and faster - in less then an hour I guess.

And this is how it was before:

Thanks, Vassili.

Not wanting to hijack your thread Vassilli but I did the same thing with my Delica and plan to do the same to my Endura which I expect to arrive tomorrow. It cuts like a razor and holds an edge like a dream. It takes no time at all on just about any reasonably coarse stone, just keep the edge real close to the stone to get the best edge geometry you can. Progress thru finer grits and finish with a hard black/translucent or ceramic followed by stropping with some CR02 and your done. Took me about half an hour from start to finish. Can be done faster with diamond stones. Give it a shot if you have this amazing steel.

With edge much thiner - probably twice or more, now it cuts much better, it can do delicate cutting - no need to apply power, nice and smooth. It also take much less effort to sharpen it. It is not only thiner but I get rid of edge shoulders so cutting friction even smaller.

I found it in Microtech knives - anything else is like axe in comparison to Microtech blades. So now cutting with is pure joy...

I also regrind Delica first, because it came out first, I did posted it here some time ago.

I use always diamonds to sharpen after I got CPM S90V. After 1200 grit benchstone I use diamond loaded leather 9 - 1 microns. I usually make 15 degree edge with curved sholder - as I understand it is bit different then convex edge. But edge thickness is impossible to reduce without regrinding, so this is why I did this.

I wear out one belt easy. This ZDP189 is pretty hard. I cut my finger with belt side, but did not trash the blade.

Thanks, Vassili.

Thanks, Vassili & NJ.

I did the same thing to my standard Endura (VG-10, one version prior to the current). It doesn't pop hair as well as when it was new, but it slices everything else much better since I made the edge as thin as I could get it.
