I have a Helle knife I like, but do not like the grind. What do you guys think of regrinding this knife to full convex, or just making grind higher like saber convex?

What does the knife look like currently, and what about the grind do you dislike most? Also, does it currently have any convexity or is it a pure Scandi?

It takes a bit of doing, but thinning it out above between the shoulder and spine, lowering the primary, inducing a bit a of a convex, will likely make it work better for EDU. I've had good luck lowering the bevel down to 24-26 or so inclusive and hitting it with a very slight convex, maybe a degree or two tops.

well, its scandi convex , and Ill make it full convex or just make grind higher.I like performance of full convex or high hollow grind knives.

I like the knife ,but the grind makes it bind when cutting most materials.(its a thick blade ,so full convex should be ok)

I have a 1st prod BR Liten Bror, 4"+ bushcraft blade that came w/ a stout low grind-- thing'd get stuck in cardboard! Sent it in last summer for BR's equivalent of a FFG, basically just a broad convex. What a difference!

Do it. I screwed up when finishing an Enzo Trapper kit, and I reprofiled to a mostly all convex grind, mainly out of necessity, but it works good.

Im planning to get couple of knives for myself for Christmas and do regrinds on them, Spyderco military, and probably some Emerson (do not know which one). Its not professional but almost:)

Good luck!
I love convex grind I think it is very efficient; convexed my Rmj loggerhead last month.

About the pictures you can use 'photo bucket' or picasa,

It will be nice to some pics, good luck!

By the time you do two or three, they'll be looking plenty good. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it and the beauty is in how well they work - at least initially.

Have to figure out how to put pics in
