Well, my AS no longer has an assymetrical grind. After about 2 hours on my lansky, I was finally able to make the angle about 30 degrees. I was really surprised how easy INFI is to sharpen and grind. I know that eventually, I will probably have Jerry regrind it, but for now, I'm just pleased as I could be:D Now for a cord wrap!

Matt,
Get some pics once you have it wrapped, I'd love to see it. Have you seen the pics of the other AS's a few of the Forumites have wrapped? If not let me know and I'll post them or email them to you.

Please, post the photos. I haven't seen them either.

I would like to see the "wrapped" pictures as well. Kind of interesting that the Assault Shakers are the first Busse I bought. One came with a symetrical and the other with an asymetrical grind. Given all the other Busse I now have I wouldn't mind hearing which really cuts better so I can sell of the "surplus" one.

Well unfortunately, I don't have the technology to post pics, but I used the wrap that Shinendojo invented here:

I found that on the newer AS sheath, you can't use the first hole on the handle as it don't fit quite right. I decided to start wrapping on the second hole and fortunately, it works just as well. The regrinding turned out funny IMO. On one side (assymetrical side), my grind is ALOT higher on the blade than the non-assym side. I suppose it is from having to take off more steel? At any rate, I'm extremely happy with the results. And perhaps later this summer, I will try to trade for another AS or perhaps....something a bit bigger:D :D

***Later this month, after I go to my fave mil surplus store, I'm going to try to obtain some more paracord and go all out for a Strider wrap. Wish me luck;)

Nice! Thanks Eric. You've been very helpful and a great friend.
Keep that INFI sharp!
