Well I finally plucked up enough courage to grind my chakma (small knife) thick convex edge into a saber grind. It's a little untidy given my total lack of skill and using a bench grinder... but the result is acceptable as I can now put a sharp edge on the chakma.
It's not as sharp as the WWII edge at the moment, but when I get the courage to do a full flat grind, I think I'll be able to get a razor sharp chakma as well as a khukri!
Another personal modification to add to the list....
