Opened up my Superleaf last night, used it for a day at work, and reground it when I got home. Nice and thin. Such a sweet knife. It has Teflon washers and a nice detent making this smoother than my Sebenza or ol' hinderer.

Should cut pretty dang good now, edge angle is about 13 dps ad the MICRO-MICRO bevel is set to what ever the green dot is on the edge pro :D 16k Shapton glass finish. It's pretty dull :P It is 0.006-0.007" behind the edge. The heel is about 0.003" :D

Any constructive criticism? I would like some over critical criticism just so I know what I can improve on. This is not my first regrind, I must have done done a dozen or more by now.

Thanks for looking

No criticism here, that looks amazingly good and it should perform pretty well. ;)

Nice job! Keep in mind that the tip is more delicate now, try not to twist or snap when exiting the cutting material. Don't ask how I know ;)

Hey bud, I'm not familiar with the steel used on that model. What is it?
My only concern would be that whatever the steel is, won't have enough steel behind the edge to support anything but light cutting tasks.

I just cut a 10mm thick copper wire for a welding earth. Nothing bad happened. I also stabbed some Ply as hard as I could a few times. Hard whittling was fine. But I wouldnt do anything heavier than that. If you push into the edge laterally on a hard surface, you see it give a tiny bit. So as long as I dont put a massive lateral load on it, it will be fine.

Steel is VG10

Wow, deflection is straight razor territory. :)

If you can do all of that, you're good. ;)

I start to worry when I get them super thin behind the edge, mostly because of my experience with Opinel Carbone. VG-10 is good stuff. I really liked it on an Endura that I had, way more so than Spyderco s30v. I had more chipping on my Native than any other steel.

How important do you find a microbevel to be when re-grinding thin? I still haven't tried one and it's really about time.

Definitely one of the most underrated Spydercos of the decade. I like what you did. You wouldn't happen to have a before and after pic to compare now would you?

Seriously it is. Theres only a few spydies I like more than it.

this knife is so nice that it is the first time that a sub $150 dollar knife has been my primary carry for more than 1 day for about 7 months

Great job on that thing! I bet it cuts like a laser now. VG 10 is a bit underrated IMO but it is really a very nice steel.

The Superleaf is my favorite edc knife. I have two of them. One user, and a backup, in the safe.
