The mini-copperlocks are very popular and great knives. I was wondering if anyone used the regular, 4 1/4", Copperlocks?

Yes, thanks. I should add that I am particularly interested in hearing how folks use their regular copperlocks. One poster in that thread said that it was his hunting knife.

A regular large copperlock is fine as an EDC except that blade length can be an issue in many localities. It does make a fine hunter too. I like both sizes.

Here's what I have at the moment less the wharncliffe blade model:

Unfortunately, the large copperlock pattern is in the vault. Not sure when it will return as current production.

That was me. I have a Large Case Copperlock in Autumn Peachseed jigged bone with a Tru-Sharp steel blade that has been my primary fish and game knife since I bought it in 2000. Before that, I was using a single blade Western liner lock.

Crappy old pic.

I have lots of other hunting knives, but for my needs here in NE Oklahoma, the Lg. Copperlock is just about perfect. It's light, easy to carry and hold it's edge surprisingly well.

I was thinking of regular Copperlock sort of like a slimline Trapper. I have a regular, two-blade 4 1/8" Trapper but it would be nice to have a thinner knife of that size. While most of my knives are 3 1/8 - 5/8" in length I am increasingly using and liking a single-blade Trapper in 3 3/4 - 7/8" as my "woods" knife. Not sure if I am going to add a second 4 1/8" knife, but if I do, it will be a single-blade Trapper-style knife.

Got one in jade bone, don't carry it much but a great slicer. Tags along on picnics for tomatoes and food prep.

I believe Case has put the pattern in the vault. Not sure what that means long term, but it means there is no current (2011) production. I read this info on the Case website.

I think this is my favorite pattern.I had a collection of 38 at one time that has dwindled to these few including one conversion. In fact i sold/traded most of mine to Tank Fisher who does the conversions and is a friend.

Right:thumbup: Stopping these or putting them in a vault was insane. I particularly like the Wharncliffe version in yellow, still annoyed with myself for not getting one when I had the chance 4 years ago. Now they cost silly money:mad: Got this one in rather freaky Rattlesnake scales, after a few drinks you could swear it moved:eek::D

I've got one of those too. Just like it Cranberry bone silver script. A beautiful knife. I'd love to see a mini copperlock version too. A Zulu style blade on one of these would be killer. I love the large copperlock pattern and stay tempted to get another one or two.
