When choosing a model that has both, what do you prefer and why?

For me, ultimately it depends but I find myself more drawn to the smaller ones, blade length is still long enough for all my needs, it is more compact and priced a little cheaper

I usually chose the smaller model. I am not going to war. I do have gear for that if necessary, but lately I have been opening boxes and cutting strings. Smaller knife is easier to carry.

And definitely not both, for me the larger can do the tasks of the smaller but the smaller is most of the times good enough, if I can go back id get the mini adira instead, I have rhe larger one now, id have to sell it to keep my numbers down

Whichever is cheaper. It's weird when it happens, but sometimes the bigger model goes on sale when the mini does not. Options are good.

I usually err on the side of going larger, but lately that hasn't really panned out as well as I thought it might. I carry the Mini Adamas models more often than the full size, because the mini is still a tank. I have thought about getting a Military 2 several times, but the Para 3 just seems to handle pretty much everything I could want. I like the build of my SHF full size, but i think the smaller version would be more useful for me while still being a bank vault. I honestly think the next time my LKS has a really cool design that I can't pass up, I'll end up with one of those.

Both/it depends.

Benchmade - 710 (big) over 707 (small), but Mini Grip and Mini Presidio over full-size Grip and Presidio. Both 581 (big) and 586 (small).

Spyderco - Endura/Endela/Delica and Military 2/Paramilitary 2/Para3, I like all of them.

Excuse the Stretch 2 on top, the weird cousin in the family photo:

When I was shopping for a Ka-Bar, I settled on the USN Mk I rather than the full 1217 Fighting Utility Combat Knife. The 1250 shorty was not out yet, but the Mk I is shorter still.

I typically only buy knives with 3 inch blades or smaller. I tend to blame it on the 3 inch carry restriction in my location but in reality, I would still buy the mini models without the restriction because those are what I prefer.

I voted for both but it really depends. I wear XXL gloves so I usually buy the larger size because it will have a larger handle. Some smaller knives work better depending on my daily circumstances. Also it gives me a reason to buy more knives.

Mic drop! (Not to mention some of the most beautiful inlays in the business!)
Don't get me wrong, as a lefty, I'm still a huge CRK fan. (16 folders and 6 fixed blades currently in the collection.) But Arno Bernard is growing fast in my collection. 2 iMambas, a Rinkhals slip joint, and a Bongo fixed. Warthog, mammoth, and a beautiful carbon fiber all appearing.
