Yesterday I got my first regular Sebenza, a Sm Regular. I have noticed that the ridges around the circumference of the thumb lug are a bit sharp. As a result, the knife is extremely easy to open as it grabs the thumb a bit. Are all regulars like this? The lugs on a my other Sebenzas do not have the sharp ridges.

I've never had or seen any like that myself.
The lug on the Regular should be the same as others, or at least mine is.

Pics would help. All sebenza styles open a bit differently. All the sebenzas open with the rainbow-like arch. But even they open a bit differently as the thumb is placed just slightly differently because of the thumb stud cutout area. The umnumzaan, you have to push straight forward as it opens completely different. I have like 20 regulars, both large and small, so I will be able to help you out a bit.

I'll definitely post some pics. On all my other Sebbies, the circles that go around the thumbstud are smooth, this one there is a slight edge on the ridges and it really grabs the thumb. If I'm mKing any sense at all... :p

CRK has changed the design of the thumb studs over the years, perhaps you have an older one, or a newer one depending on year made.

older ones are more sharp, like in the 03-04 range. I prefer the new "softer" ones.

My Sm Regular was made in 02. I have had it catch on my pocket but the ease of opening is welcomed by me

CRK makes continuous minor design changes during the life of their knife models, and this is just probably a small example. My older Sebe's have sharper thumbstud ridges than the newer ones. Maybe Chris had one open on him one time too.
