Regular vs. Classic lock engagement

I notice that on all my reg models (large annual edition and small solar wind) the lock seems to engage just over half way.

On my classic models (large and large micarta inlaid) I see that the lock engages just under half way.

I was wondering if thats just coincidence or if those are attributes of regular vs. classic?

Anyone have the same experience?

Coincidence, I'm sure.....IMHO of course!
