Regulator vs Urban Regulator & sheath options

Picked up an Urban Regulator at Blade and am looking for a sheath for it. Is there any difference in specs between a Regulator and an Urban Regulator? On some pics online it looks like the Urban Regulator has a more pronounced choil. Would a sheath built for a Regulator fit an Urban Regulator?

Along the same lines, any recommendations for a reasonably priced nylon/cordura-type sheath? I thought a spec ops might work but it's too narrow.

Would appreciate any thoughts from folks more knowledgeable than myself. Thank you!

I have a good friend who got his Regulator to fit almost perfect in a Spec apps sheath. Almost too fat for liner but he hand shaped liner w/hair dryer & said it now fits like a glove. I don't know if it matters whether it is an old style w/screw or new style w/Velcro.

Is it Full Flat ground? Regulators came Saber, FF, Hollow. So check on that.

I got mine to fit in a special ops sheath also. I used paint sticks and the heat of a sunny day on my car dash.

One more thumbs up for spec ops method...if you are not worried about rub, some of my best fitting sheaths are spec-ops with hair drier...and I like the sheath system in general. they are square at the bottom which makes them take up some extra room depending on how you are carrying or packing, although they are very low profile all around.

SpecOps Combat Master is good gear, I agree.

I've bought a couple Regulators here on the Exchange that came with kinda non-descript nylon sheaths with plastic inserts.

It's been claimed some of these were actually bundled with the knives originally from SY-- like this one here:

I'm sure someone with a lot of Regulator knowledge can give us the official dope on this subject...

anyways, as Cam mentioned SpecOps being low drag-- I've found these little Bussekin sheaths to be even more compact and efficient for my usage. SpecOps may be more heavily constructed, but I like the Bussekin .

Pics of the Urban Regulator? I think the difference is a hollow grind vs the Military Regulator with a saber grind.

.... yes I have several of those sheaths. They were an option when the Regulators first went up.
