A while ago, my son's friend found a machete and an Estwing drywall hammer. They were rusty, but I thought the Estwing had potential.

The machete, on the other hand, seemed like a really cheap no-name machete. It did have a carbon steel blade, so I thought "What the heck". Here is what I did today with my finds.

Thank you for looking! Btw, of anyone can tell me who made the machete, I'd be grateful. I'm still guessing it's a no-name brand, lol.

Great find and great work! Estwing makes great tools. Can't help you on the machete ID though. But good job!

Nice hammer reclaim! I woulda done the the machete like you did, too. Why not? Fix the edge and you have a useable tool still!

Nice work!

It looks like an old tramontina machete. Maybe? I'd sharpen those chips out and get ready for the zombie invasion! :). But seriously, excellent find. You've brought some life back to it. Nice job!

I can tell you with 100% certainty that's an "Express" branded machete. I believe they were made by Incolma. Solid injection molded handle AND riveted--talk about overkill! My very first machete was one of those. Good steel.
