Some time ago I bought a lockback folder by german maker Gernot Loquai (member of german knifemakers guild) who lives very close to my place. (~ 500 m distance :D )
It is made of kind of aluminium body, wood/epoxy composite inlay and ASP30 blade ( non-stainless powdermetalurgical tool steel). I used it as my EDC for quite a while and it performed very well but the "cheap" looking inlay was a bit awkward to me.
That`s why I decided to have it changed with some nice looking mammoth ivory.
(Just as an explanation: The knife was made as kind of gift for one of his friends and intended as a simple user in the friend`s workshop, who`s a bowmaker, as is Gernot! The friend gave the knife away and I bought it finally. Gernot refused to change the inlays as it would have taken too much time and would have been too expensive.)
Now my czech friend Karel (cosco) decided to do me the favour of changing some knife handles for me.

As you can see the blade is well used already! ;)
