Rehandling a Ka-bar?

Hi all. I have a Warthog that I've abused and now I'm thinking of customizing it. Never done this to any knife before so I'm pritty green. I know there is a pin holding the blade to the handle. How hard is it to remove? I'm thinking of a wooden handle. Just wondering if it would be difficult to reassemble? I got basic tools in a basic tool box(I live in an apartment with little space). I've tried searching and came up empty handed. Any advise? Thanks
