Rehandling?

Anyone have an idea about the cost associated with rehandling a knife?

Specifically I have a mind to replace the kraton handle on my CS Recon Scout, maybe with desert ironwood. Also, recommendations on people qualified to do the work would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you considered doing it yourself (DIY)?
I have tried putting handles on a few blades, with no prior experience and if I say so myself they came out pretty good.

My only power tools are a table top drill press, a hand drill and a dremel.
Most of the work I've done is with files and sandpaper. They go nice and slow ;)

Spend ten bucks at Ragnars for a scandi blade, put a handle on that for a warm up and then tackle your Scout.
I've been meaning to cut the handle off my scout, but I just haven't worked my way through my warm up blades yet :D

Like the old ad said....try it, you'll like it :D

There have been at least two threads on rehandling Cold Steel knives recently. I will see if I can fine them.

Thanks guys.

Thom, it took me longer to work up the courage to drill on that stag, than it took to do the whole thing :D

Again, I posted the pictures to show that someone with some patience, time and a good tutorial can do some cool stuff.
No prior experience necessary!
