REI Passage 2P vs. Marmot Tungsten 2P Tents

Any opinions of the better tent? I'd like to start trying some 1-3 day hikes, and need some gear. I can get a Marmot Tungsten for $139 and change (on sale, normal $199) delivered, the REI Passage 2 $168 or so, the Marmot comes with a footprint, the Passage footprint would add at least another $20 if I want it. I know there are lighter tents, cost is a consideration, anyone have either tent and if so what do you like or dislike about it? Thanks, Will

No experience with Marmot tents, but I bought both my sons the REI Half Dome 2 for Boy Scouts and they've been great tents. Didn't buy the footprints and they've been fine. Also consider that if you are an REI member you get a dividend for 10% of your yearly purchase to use at REI.

Thanks Neeman, the Kelty looks interesting, especially the weight and the reviews are good, did you buy the footprint (at about $22), or not use a footprint or fab one? It has held up well for you? The Salida 2 is on sale now for about $94.

Halfneck thanks, REI's dividend and return policy are a consideration.
