Reiner Grosche makes very nice folders, and lately he started a series of scrimshaw folders. (I forgot the name of the guy doing the scrims...)
The voices in my head told me to buy some... and I did!

I also got an ivory handled hex-driver and some ivory beads with the folders. My personal favorite is the Zebra, the combination of the Zebra scrim and the damascus is just perfect.

Outstanding work of art! Living creatures are the most difficult
subjects to get just right. Here they are depicted beautifully!

I also like matching sets. In my opinion, they have a great
added visual value. I feel that the set can be expanded
to at least 10-12 pieces, depicting other big game animals
and some of their prehistoric "relatives"...

A project really worth considering!

Great set. Can you find out who did the scrimshaw. I have a knife that begs for a nice scrim, and I'm looking for a scrimshander nearby.

He did more than these 3 David, I just didn't buy them all. I'll see if I can find some pics of the others (bears, raccoons, and a panther I think)

Beautiful work...the scrim on those is just amazing.

I'd like to see some more of that mini in the background of Photo #1 though :)

More in this series (but not mine). The artist doing the scrims doesn't want to be known, so it remains a mistery who scrimmed these folders!

That is some exquisite work Jos. All are supperbly done, but those zebra themed ones are my favorites for the way the steel matches the stripes.
