It wasn't even on the site when I checked early today. It is, now; but with red letters saying AVAILABLE SOON.

I cannot wait to hear comparisons between this and the CS gurka kukri. This does look awesome.

^ this! ^
I'm betting that the 21 is faster, more nimble (designed not just as a worker, but also as a fighter) and better all round for utility tasks, while the CS Gurkha is more like a pointy hatchet, due to overall thickness and the fact that it's ffg.

The CS Gurka isnt a bad Kuk. I do prefer the RBK personally, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my old CS LTC Kuk too. Sadly they dont make em anymore.

I've been resisting and trusting in the overall capabilities of my BK9 but it's starting to look as though I can resist no longer on the BK21.

You're right,
But that doesn't make me wrong. ;)

Yes it does. I've handled the CS. It's a lot like a traditional Khukri. So much so that it is a traditional Khukri just made with WAY better steel, and manufacturing. The CS is not a pointy hatchet by any means. The ffg makes it razor sharp. Khukris were designed to take limbs off. It's got to be heavy, and sharp to do that.

The CS Khukri is a serious piece of steel. If I had an extra $500 I'd consider getting one. One thing about it... I despise the handle.

Whoa Whoa Whoa,
Back the truck up brother! :)
What I should have said was that by comparison, the RBK seems like it would be far more nimble, balanced, and knife-like in the hand.
And the CS kukri, which is on my list of blades to acquire, SEEMS like it would PERHAPS be a stronger chopper than the RBK...
That's all! Not hating on any of those two blades.
I've seen chopping footage of both, and the Gurkha seems like it chops harder and stronger.
While the RBK it WAY better all round.
I love being corrected when I'm wrong, I don't like being misunderstood.
Still love your review vid btw! ;)

Cool looking kukri, blade thickness somewhere in between the kukri machetes out there and the CS GK. Their website says $222.53 but at the same time on the link at the top someone writes 'just ordered. 144.64 straight from ka- bar.', which seems pretty good value.
I just got the CS GK myself, 'used' NIB for $145. The handle is rough but that makes it very grippy, you don't need a traditional khukuri handle ring to keep your slippery (bloody ;) ) hands on the CS handle, but I can see how some people say it gives you blisters.

You don't have to buy the San Mai III version, do you? I'm sure you can find an old carbon V or newer SK5 for under $150 used, or even the new version in O1 for $180. Or you can try this Reinhardt one for $145. By the looks alone I also really like the Condor Heavy Duty Kukri Knife, which isn't that expensive. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1321600-Condor-Kukri-Heavy-Duty-Knife-amp-Alone & http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1200516-Ka-bar-bk9-or-Condor-heavy-duty-Kukri but beware http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1200516-Ka-bar-bk9-or-Condor-heavy-duty-Kukri

Thank you for the compliment on my video. I chose to showcase the RBK's overall capabilities, rather than JUST its chopping ability. I figure there will be plenty of other youtubers doing that. But, the RBK has a hell of a sweet spot. It chops very well when form/technique is right, and that goes for any Khukri.

Please try to be very clear, and direct when replying in forums. Remember, we can't "listen" to replies, and can't "hear" how it was meant. I read your response as just passing the CS off as very inferior. It read a little pretentious, as well. If that's not what was meant I do apologize. But, at the same time I try to correct bad assumptions before they tern into pre depositions, or beliefs. I actually meant my response in a kind way. Not as a "call out", or an attack. I've handled both knives, and thought I might be able to lend a hand. If I seemed prick-ish, again I apologize.

No worries man! :)
I know you're just a fellow knife geek, who (Unlike me) actually knows his stuff.
Ya know,
I actually had the CS O-1 kukri in my "shopping cart " until the RBK came out.
I still want one bad, even though I just got a 21 this weekend. :)
Nah, I know you were defending the honor of the mighty Gurkha, you're not a jerk in my book.
I'm just new to forums, and I don't often have the time to type out a super well thought out response.

Wouldn't you say that the Gurkha (you handled it once right?) would be a slightly stronger chopper?
That's what I meant, and I think that'd be the case due to the ffg.
The hatchet reference wasn't meant as ignorant or dismissive, just that I'm betting that it's very choppy (like a hatchet).
