Well it's here. I need some imput as I am a kukri collector and I'm not too familiar with the history of these.

It is high carbon steel and appears to be bead blasted.

There is also a mistake on one side, one of the grind lines has a bump in it.

Other than sheath wear it appears unused.

Here's the bump in the grind line.

Maybe it made it out of the factory that way or was sold as a blem. Either way I'm happy with it.

It makes a great machete for light brush. As for dedicated chopping duties, I like something a little thicker.

I have a large collection of HI kukris from 13-21 inches and 20-43 oz so choppers are covered.

Ah, the Effingham/Blackjack era RBK. :D

Gawd I love those things.

Yours is either 52100 or A2. There were alot of knives made out of 52100, but it actually wasn't. Judging from the bump, that looks like a factory flaw. It wasn't sold as a second, since, most everything that came from Blackjack in that era of BKT's lives, were hand ground, with no 2 actually being alike.

Good score, btw. I really love mine.

I have the 52100 grey powder coated model. I got it from some Dbag forumite, a few years ago.......

:D

Unless they made a different model with the handle slabs that handle has been changed. Mine has a full hard rubber handle around the tang.

There is a difference between the Reinhardt Kukri, and the Reinhardt/Becker Kukri.

The one muddog and TL's post are about, are the Hank Rienhardt Kukri.

What the OP and myself posted about, is the RBK, which is a little different. The RBK was made in both 52100, 440A, and A2.
