REKAT Accessories for Business Attire

I work in an airline operations control center. Our company policy on proper attire is stated as "Business Casual". Up until 18 months ago I had been turning wrenches on the flightline for 30 years. What the hell do I know about "Business Casual"? I have a hard time deciding which of my REKAT accessories (see pic) goes with which trouser/shirt combination, so I wear them all. Is that overkill?

The Fashion Police already have a file on me that's a foot thick (Why can't I wear jeans to a wedding?) and when my boss looks at my attire in the morning he has this look on his face like he just swallowed a hairball. Any fashion tips (ie: the Carnivore with reds and blacks, the Pocket Hobbit with light colors) would be most appreciated.

Send any or all of them off to Frank Recupero and have him replace the scales with something nice like MOP or some exotic wood and filework the whole thing for you. He can convert even the Sifu into a gentleman's pocket knife.

I've found my Sifu to be a wonderful accent as is to even the ugliest suit! I think it would even bring out the best in fat ties.

If you're considering dressing it up, Dale Reif does a wonderful job too. There's a link to him under "Custom Makers" here at BF's links.

Our own Jake Evans does beautiful customizing work on folders. try dropping him a line at: blades@chipsnet.com

Are you sure it's not everyone else that's dressing funny? Could be that you're the only normal one...

Thanks for your replies folks. I really hadn't thought about changing the REKATS in any way (although I've wondered what the Pocket Hobbit would look like with some nice hardwood scales).

So what you're suggesting is that I highlight the accessories to draw attention away from the rest of the package (the package being me). I LIKE it. I knew this was the place to come for true enlightenment.

Elvislives,

I agree with you 100%. I feel that anyone who doesn't have a few pairs of well worn, soft, faded jeans is missing the whole point of getting dressed in the morning.

As I said over in the REKAT forum, carry the Sifu, basic black goes with everything and one look at the Sifu will silence any critics.

I'm lucky. Where I work, it is 'business messy' as I call it. I get all the fun jobs, shoveling mud for 3 days, cleaning out sandblasters, packing and shipping department, getting the boss lunch, etc. Jean shorts and cut off t shirt are my dress with as many knives as I can cram on my belt, pockets and my backpack. My 3 that I made from 0-1, the Jantz Lynx kit, leatherman supertool and my Genesis 2. I'm known as "knifeboy". I love my job! No dress code and as many knives as I want! My boss even wants me to make him one!
