I am looking into buying yet another knife, and the REAT pocket hobbit seems to fit the bill....I have not heard anything about them though...Anyone out there have an opinion?

I posted here a few days ago on a pocket Hobbit I blought on the forum. A few people respondded with some info on theirs. I like mine. i have a sifu also which ZI have only goodm things to say about also. I had a carnuvour which was only mareginally ok in my opinion. Not sharp and not as smooth as the Sifu or Pocke t Hobbit. That pocke t Hobbit is just plain Wicked!

Well, I've only heard mostly positive things about REKAT.

I'd like to find out more as I have that Special Edition SIFU in D-2 on order at 1STOP. What the heck is the progress on that I wonder?

I have just noticed several posts where people say they need a screw for their REKAT knife. This worries me.

Why is this happening? Are screws just popping off of REKATs, or are people disassembling it and losing screws on their own?

The knife with the missing screws was apparently purchased in that condition from a gunshow dealer.

The pocket Hobbit is a heavy and solid knife. I have one of the original version with a lever lock release, and it is a good knife. The tumb stud is purly decorative (read as way to ackward to use), and the action feel gritty, but the blade can be driven into position with a quick snap of the wrist, and the frame and lockup are rock solid.

I like the design because, even in the unlikely event that the lock fails, you are unlikely to get cut.

The REKAT knives are very ruggedly made and reliable. They are hard use knives designed for hard use. They aren't the last word in fit and finish (and I don't think they are meant to be) but excellent performers. I'm 0 for 1 on warranty claims with them but that may be a fluke. I can recommend them without any hesitation. Take care.

I have a Red/Black Sifu that I bought a few months ago. I can saay nothing but good things about it. This is a very strong knife. The lock is not one that will fail on you. Granted I do NOT beat the heck out of my knives to test them as some do. Can not afford the cost. I do use them fully as intended without reservation. Rekats seem as if they are bombproof. I would reccomend them in a heartbeat.
