Checked out the REKAT website, and unfortunately I did find any specs as to heat treat, steel type, weight ,carry system photo and specs of material utilized for same, or dimensions of the Utility Neck knife. Any information would be most appreciated.
TIA

Titan,

I appreciate the link you posted. The two websites I checked didn't have the specs.
I trust the neck sheath is kydex, didn't spot the weight of the piece or rockwell info. Thanks again, Titan.

Phil -- I'm sure you can find more info by using the search engine.

I do believe the sheath is kydex. Can't recall the weigth and RC, though.

You're welcome!

Hi Phil,
I have a Utility and love the knife. PV Knife & Tool has them on special at $39.95 right now.
Here's the specs.
Blade Material 1095
Blade Thickness .125
R/C 58
Blade length 2.50"
O/A Length 6.25"
Weight 2oz.
Sheath Kydex

These knives get VERY sharp and the Black-T is thick and durable.
Later,
Bill

Titan ,

Thanks again.

Bill,

I really appreciate your posted info. That Rekat utility neck knife and a Photon II white light looks like a great addition to my Dad's Father's day grab bag if I can get em in time. Initiating websearch on PV knife and tool. Thanks a million guys.

Stay safe and all the best, Phil <-----<

Thanks to Bill McWilliams' "heads up" on the REKAT Utility neck knife, and it's availability at Pioneer Valley Knife and Tool at a super price, I got the piece next day! via UPS select service(7.50) and in time for my Dad's Father's Day gift ensemble
.
The knife came in a poly bag with no documentation, however, I am ecstatic over the blade and its accessories and this blade is worth every penny of its full retail price(54.95),imo.
In another wee poly bag came a stainless ball chain and paracord lanyard, and a belt slide was included with attachment screws.
The blade is beautifully ground, coated with Walter Birdsongs' superb Black T, and came snuggled in its well finished kydex rig.

I would like to thank Round Eye Knife and Tool for crafting such a fine and reasonably priced USA made knife, Pioneer Valley Knife and Tool and Peter www.pvknife.com for slammin next day service via UPS no less, and Bill McWilliams and Titan for their help.

I have no doubt, this puppy will hang out of sight on Dad's neck, for immediate use in the garden, kitchen,or whatever. Dad's Randall might get jealous.

Once again, I highly recommend the Rekat Utility Neck knife. Thanks guys and Happy Father's Day to all.

Stay safe and all the best, Phil <-----<

Now for the bad news the Fang and Utility Neck knife are being dropped from the line as soon as our existing stock is wraped up. When we introduced the Low Cost Neck knives we opened the door and every one jumped in with varying qualties and models. Before we did the low cost versions the neck knife was strickly a custom market. They served their purpose and because we can't keep up with orders and demand for our various folders our efforts and resources are better served with Rolling Lock Folders. Also we are using a very expensive coating on a very inexpensive knife. To compete we would have to go to teflon powder coat or standred powder coat. Neither of which can hold a candle to BlackT. There are about 700 in the system then poof they are gone.

Bob,

I'm very sorry to learn that the Fang and Utility Neck knife are being discontinued. I'll have to pick up a couple more before they're gone. Suggestion: How about making some of the 700 remaining pieces available through the BF Store?

Bob,

I too am very sorry to hear of the Fang Utility Neck Knife's being dropped from your line. I appreciate you letting us know, because I too will have to scrounge up some more. Since this looks like the end of the series, time permitting after the blade show, could you give a little info on the Rekat Fang Utility Neck knifes History and
variations?
Was it made in Idaho?
Are 1095 and ats34 the only steels used?
And was the ats34 version also Black T coated? That would be a gem variation that I would have to find. TIA

There have been three people grinding the neck knives Bob Brothers, myself and Bill Amorue so between Washington and Idaho. There were some ATS-34 BlackT knives but to be frank the ATS-34 bombed so we wraped up all those by using the stonewashed finish and some were just sold as 1095 with BlackT.
There are no more ATS-34 blanks they have been long gone. So 1095 and ATS were the only ones we made.
Hope that answeres your questions

Did the REKAT Utility come in another color aside from black? What is that black coating anyway (Black T)? Is it Ti Nitride? TIA
