Can anyone tell me the relative brightness of the Streamlight BatonLite and the Invoa X5T?

And how do they compare to the Arc AAA?

dont have an arc, but do have an inova and a batonlite, a 5 C cell model, and the batonlite is a LOT brighter than the inove X5t i have (w/white LEDs), no comparison, really. imho the X5t is more designed for close in area illumination, it doesnt really 'throw 'the lite very well imho...........

I have a Baton light.. the 3 'N' battery one like the Kubaton I bet thats the one you are refering to. I also have an Inova X-5, the original.

The Inova is brighter hands down. But that in mind I use the Baton Light beacause I hang work keys on it and stuff it in the front of my belt.

The batteries for the Baton light are only 2.99 a pair and it uses 3. The litiums for the Inova are 10.00 or more if you get them at the store. Plus the Baton light lasts longer.

The X5T should be much brighter than the Batonlite. I have an earlier X5 and it's much brighter than my Batonlite. I ordered a X5t from 1SKS and it was very dim. I sent it back. I would send the X5t in for repair/replacement if it's dimmer than the Batonlite. My X5 uses the "dead" batteries from my Scorpion.
I have a Arc AAA 3.1 (not LE) and it is also brighter than my Batonlite. Battery life is much shorter and it's really not good for a baton!:D It sits on my keychain is always with me out of the house.
All that said, I think the Batonlite is a very underrated light. It's bright enough for most uses and it double as useful baton. I carry mine in a coat pocket or my left jeans pocket.
Get them all! I did...

well, maybe i need to send my X5t back, it really is not much (if any) brighter than amini mag lite!! has a wider beam, but not deep at all. i just thought, well maybe LEDs arent very bright.......

My Inova is MUCH brighter than my maglights...no comparison. I'm really glad someone brought up this topic as I was really looking for a good review of the BatonLite, now I have to have one :D

Are we talking about the same thing here? I have an X5T and it's great but I don't think it would be "brighter" (more throw?) than a 5 C cell incandescent.

The BatonLite is the 3N LED light, it shouldn't be as bright as an X5T. I'm not sure what the 5C cell light referred to is, but any 5C light should blow away the Inova -- the Inova is 5 Nichias overdrive off 6 Volts, for a total of what, 10 lumens tops maybe? BatonLite is 3 LEDs driven off 4.5 Volts for 5ish lumens?

I think the confusion is the Streamlight Batonlite is a 3N LED light, but SIFU1A is interpreting it differently.

i have an old streamlite 5 'c' cell marked batonlite, bought in the late '80s and i thought they were still called that, thats what confused me, lol. i guess i call all 'c' cell mag lites batonlites because, well, we used to use them as batons/my old streamlite was marked that way.

i didnt know they made a LED called a batonlite, oops.

so, should my inova X5t be brigher than my old 5 'c' cell flashlite w/halogen bulb, or were we talkin bought the new LED batonlites???

thanks

Greg: if your 5C-cell light doesn't womp on the X5T as far as brightness, time to get a new 5C light!

I have a 6C Maglite that I like to keep around, if only for its defensive implications. I've upgraded the light by replacing the stock lamp with a Carly lamp (don't know if you can do that with streamlights), which boosted brightness a bunch, although it'll obviously decrease battery life. I also put in a borofloat lens from www.flashlightlens.com which seemed to give me a few percent more light -- they also sell a new ultra-clear glass lense that should give even a few more percent above that. So, if streamlights can take the Carly lamp and the ultra-clear-glass lens, you can bump up brightness of your light very noticeably.

Greg,

Sorry, I added to the confusion. I did not read your post well enough.:o Plus, I did not know the older Streamlights were also called Batonlite.
Your X5t should be between the 5c Streamlight and the 3-Led Streamlight in brightness.
Now, it you want something brighter than your 5c Streamlight with a bit of a bite, try the TigerLight!

I just got a Tigerlight, and in fact replaced the plastic lens with the ultra clear glass lens referenced above. The thing is only 8" long (I got the version without the OC) and has to be putting out 350 lumens -- it's certainly putting out around as much light as my SureFire M4 with the 350 lumen bulb, and maybe putting out more light than the M4.

The Tigerlight's beam pattern is a very small ultra-bright center (much brighter and smaller than the M4's bright spot), a secondary part of the bright spot that's a bit bigger and less bright (still smaller than the M4's bright spot), and a bright corona with a lot of side spill (more than the M4's). By contrast, the M4 has a bigger and smoother bright spot, and less side spill. Different theories on what constitutes the most-useable beam for a light meant for tactical use.
