Hi All.

one of the Forumites suggested I take a side-by-side picture of my Super Bowie and Tigershark, to show relative sizes.

So .... I borrowed my wife's digital camera and did just that, with a few other SOG fixed blades in the mix.
Our pal Bobby_B will soon be incorporating the actual picture into this thread, he has the tools, talent, and technology.

Note: I aligned the front edge of the guard of each knife to show relative blade lengths.

Enjoy !!!!

Cheers,

Carl

p.s. yep, that is an old dinosaur of a SOG: the Nite Tech. SK-5 carbon steel. The fellow who was kind enough to sell it to me had wrapped the handle in a thin green paracord. The actual handle material is a harder durometer of Kraton, much like the Tigershark.

Nice knives!
Where's the original Bowie???

Hey Carl and Rob, thanks for taking the pic and posting it. Very cool. I have a Tech I and SK-5 Tigershark, looks like I've got some catching up to do. ;)

Tigershark must be a monster! I handled a new Super Bowie at a shop recently and thought it was a fine knife. I thought it was a really big knife.

Bobby-B,
uh, ya know, like where IS the flagship SOG Bowie S1 .... it is hiding in my pig hunting backpack and I didn't even think about it ....

OK, so I have some homework to do .... I realize the SOG Recondo (modified) isn't in the picture either.....

Culpepper,
the Tigershark is (IMHO) the best of the best in Big Knives. I have the old SK-5 model (sold to me by a good pal in a moment of weakness) and the edge is hair-popping sharp and stays that way. I gun-blued the blade a few years back "just because" and it helps keep the rust away. It is much much much better for chopping than the Super Bowie. Yessir, the Tigershark is one fabulous knife. (oh yeh, I heard about the Midnight Tiger and decided to make my own).

Cheers,

Carl

oh, and by the way, I didn't put my SEAL 2000 into the picture because it is over in Iraq. A pal of mine deployed a couple of months ago and I loaned it to him, along with a Kabar.

Cheers,

Carl
