Hi all,
I've been into knives for decades, but only bought my first Boker about 2 months ago. Let me explain why.
In Holland (where I live) it was never clear there are different lines of Boker knives, and the ones I saw were always of lesser quality compared to the Al-Mar's, SOG's, Benchmades and what have you.
Then I came across the Boker Schanz, a dagger made of 440C, full tang, .25" thick with Micarta slabs. It looked beautiful and I bought it, wondering what I could expect for $89.
When it arrived it exceeded my wildest expectations. The knife is heavy but excudes quality, it's razor sharp, and the fit and finish is very good. It's built like a tank (which may not be optimal for a fighting knife but it feels very nice) but the weight is distributed well.
Because of the Schanz (it's from the Plus line) I started looking into Boker more carefully, and found out more about the Magnum line, the Plus, etc. I've since bought the Resurrection (awesome folder designed by Jum Burke) and ordered the AK101 and the Direct. ALL of these knives are from the Plus line. I think these are all of very good quality, and excellent value for money. I especially like the CLB designs, and am looking into the Trance, the Hyper and the M-Type. Your thoughts on all the models mentioned will be appreciated.
Count me as a new Boker fan.
