Relatively new to Boker

Hi all,

I've been into knives for decades, but only bought my first Boker about 2 months ago. Let me explain why.
In Holland (where I live) it was never clear there are different lines of Boker knives, and the ones I saw were always of lesser quality compared to the Al-Mar's, SOG's, Benchmades and what have you.

Then I came across the Boker Schanz, a dagger made of 440C, full tang, .25" thick with Micarta slabs. It looked beautiful and I bought it, wondering what I could expect for $89.
When it arrived it exceeded my wildest expectations. The knife is heavy but excudes quality, it's razor sharp, and the fit and finish is very good. It's built like a tank (which may not be optimal for a fighting knife but it feels very nice) but the weight is distributed well.

Because of the Schanz (it's from the Plus line) I started looking into Boker more carefully, and found out more about the Magnum line, the Plus, etc. I've since bought the Resurrection (awesome folder designed by Jum Burke) and ordered the AK101 and the Direct. ALL of these knives are from the Plus line. I think these are all of very good quality, and excellent value for money. I especially like the CLB designs, and am looking into the Trance, the Hyper and the M-Type. Your thoughts on all the models mentioned will be appreciated.

Count me as a new Boker fan. ;)

Welcome philwar. The CLB models you have mentioned are great knives for the money and I think you would be very happy with any one or all of them. The M-Type is a little big but the others are very handy and fit the hand really nice. The Trance and Hyper PE are a couple of my favorite EDC knives . In order are the M-Type, Hyper CE and PE, and Trance CE.

Like you philwar, I'm relatively new to Boker myself, even though I been a knifeknut for the past 30 years. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!:)

Last night I went ahead and ordered a BokerPlus Valkyrie to replace the one I had to sell last year. And with the quality of the Titan Defender I recieved today, I'm already thinking about the Applegate Folding Dagger, the new version. I have posted a thread about it here asking some info on blade and liner thickness.

Boker has really got some fantastic designs and they are put together with total quality in mind, from the Chinese knives to the Soligen knives!:thumbup::D

Thx for the pics!
I like big folders, I have no problem carrying the Resurrection or way bigger. So the M-Type would be fine for me, I never carry smaller than 3.5" anyway! :D I do own smaller ones but they just sit and look pretty in my collection. Bigger ones get to go out with me. ;)
