Hello
I am newbie to this forum. I am avid outdoors person. I love canoeing, camping and biking. I am assembling emergency disaster kit for my family. It needs a reliable folding knife. I saw the new SOG trident. It looks very practical. Has anyone had difficulty opening it? Is there any chance it may accidentally close while you are using it to cut fish? What kind of maintainance do I need to do for the knife?

I need advices from everybody.

G'day Picard. How are you? Im not an expert but am a mechanical engineer by trade and I have a few folders myself ( although no SOG's yet, but that is soon to change ). Generally speaking, some of your high end gun lubricants will work, or if you can find it, a product called Super Lube ( clear fliud/gel with relatively low viscosity ), we use it for alot of our CNC machines etc. Its an import from the US so you shouldnt have a problem. Also, as with all mechanical pieces of kit in the outdoors, KEEP IT CLEAN and it will never let you down. Just like rifles etc, keep them clean, rust free and lubricated and she'll be right mate.
