I have a Remington 870 that I would like to mount a light on. I am aware of the SF 618FA. Are there any other options that I might want to look at?

If you simply want something bright and with a tactical clicky, I'd go with a Romisen RC-F4 with Q5 diode. It uses two CR123A batteries, puts out roughly 220 lumens, and has a glow-in-the-dark tailcap.

I would go for something that has a tape switch available for it, that way you can mount the switch on the forearm. Surefire 6P, G2, and some fenix's have available tape switches. Also try not to cheap out on the mount, I learned this the hard way. For protecting my home I only trust surefire. There's a reason that soo many PD departments use the 870 w/ Surefire Forend.

Yeah, I've got Surefires all over the house. I will probably go with 618FA. Just seeing if there was anything else I might need to look at.

I just got a streamlight TLR-3 to use interchangeably on several weapons and I really like it.
