Remedy for too tight sheath?

I recently picked up an Esee 3 and the molded plastic sheath is too tight. It takes two hands and some wrestling to draw the knife. I can see the two hand need but not the force needed to draw the knife.

Will this loosen up over time or can anyone recommend a solution? Thanks.
