Remember that Framelock I screwed up? I rebuilt it.

Phil Dwyer had requested that when I sorted this mess out, I post some pics of the finished knife. The lock bar relief got a bit thin on me when I milled it, but it snaps over well and it passes the "edge of the workbench test." The last pic is terribly dark, due to my imperfect indoor lighting situation but I included it as it's the first pic of my new mark. I got the stencils from Ernie Grospitch, and built my own etcher. Here we go:

Feedback is most welcome. I'm new at folders, school me.

I think that is slick, man! Consistent design (flow of the piece, how everything comes together), consistent finish, well "buried" at fully closed position... The only, and I mean only thing that catches my eye is the back end of the spine, at the jimping (and for the love, it's small and might be 100% due to camera angle) where the last section of jimps seem to create a sharp edge sticking out when blade is closed. Honestly, I think I'm being a little bit of a b***h for even mentioning it, and the angle its cut at looks like it will really lock up against the pin for a nice snap. Any chance of an open spine shot?

I dig the logo: concise, simple and contains all the necessary info to track you down when somebody wants to buy another knife. Is that a torch on the side of your logo? Maybe a close-up of that would be nice too!

I appreciate the remarks, fellas. Amcardon, you are right about the very top end of the blade tang sticking out a little. Good eye. I kind of got stuck with that after I had shaped the back of the blade radiused to fit the stop pin. This after when cleaning the back of the blade after HT, I took a skosh too much off the radius to fit the 3/16" stop pin, messing things up. I had to get some 1/4" hardened dowel pins from McMaster, and turn shoulders on it to fit into the 3/16" blind holes.

I should be able to avoid several mistakes on the next one. Hopefully I don't make different ones.

That is a torch on the logo. I don't have a closeup of that mark, but I do have handy a pic of the other blade I marked tonight, with the larger of the two stencil sizes. I'm also on the learning curve with getting a consistent etch/darkening.

Wow! I think I remember when you were having issues with this knife, but nobody could ever tell by looking at it!!

Salem, that is one sweet folder. I love it!!

You could be the next Les George, or Sal Manaro, or Tom Mayo!! I love how clean this knife is.

dam fine looking! Im still trying to get fixed knives down and making a folder intimidates the hell out of me. What kinda mill you got?

I've been driving to town to use my friend's Bridgeport, it's a vertical knee mill, 9x48ish, 2hp with power feed and DRO. I LOVE that thing.
