I finally managed to secure mine own Case 32146RL but am still trying to find out more about this SFO folder. Camillus was making all the riggers for Case in 2003, but the usual under-contract product was the 6246RL with jigged brown Delrin handles with the oval Case shield set into the obverse handle.

This yellow-handled version was a cinch for Camillus to produce. It was exactly the same as their own Camillus 695 Spike Knife, except with yellow, in place of black, handles. Cami also made a 696 Piranha on which the blade was half-serrated.

Case did not market any riggers (Pattern 46) after 2003.

The best information I have about the Yellow SFO comes from a 2006 auction listing discovered on Worthpoint --

Case Marlin Spike Knife Yellow SFO Mint In Box 2003 NR

Hi I'm James Parker and I am offering some fine Case knives for auction. ...<snip>...This knife for auction is a rare Case knife, a 2003 issue Case Marlin Spike Knife, 32146RL SS, 4 1/2" closed. This knife is tang stamped on the master Sheepfoot blade with Case XX with 5 X's and 2 Dots, dating this as a 2003 issue Case knife. This Marlin Spike also features the left and right end Bird's Eye Rivets. This was a one time Special Factory Order issue produced exclusively for a Case retailer in 2003.

This Case Marlin Spike Knife is pattern stamped on the rear tang of the master Sheepfoot blade with USA 32146RL SS. The "R" in the pattern stamp signifies the Bail and the "L" signifies the Spike. ...<snip>...

2003 wasn't all that long ago. Someone must remember which of the Case Retailers was selling this knife, how many were sold, etc. ???

Oh wow. That is a cool one. I've never seen one of those before. If I ever come across one, I certainly have a spot for it in my collection of yella handled Cases! Great find!

I think 2003 was also end of the 640045R
which was also a Camillus production unless
I'm experiencing FRS (faulty recall syndrome).

Somebody on cCc forum looking for the 32146RL as well.
Knice catch S.J. congratulations.

Jim;

Try contacting Katie Shonts at Case and giver her all of the info off of the box label. She may be able to look it up as to who the customer was.

Hey Steve -- Happy Holidays!!
I can't find an email address for Katie. I did find a post in the Case CC Forum from her advising she won't be back to her office until next week (1/3/2011). I guess posting or PMing her in the Case Forums is the accepted way to contact her with a question of this type?

I may have just found a standard 2003 6246 to go along with this wild yellow-handled SFO. I'd like to have examples of the LAST riggers issued by Case. I have a 2002 6246 and thought 2002 was the last year ...until I saw a 2003 ..and then this SFO entered the fray.

Collecting knives is FUN!

Sweet lil riggin knife there! I still have to add a marlin spike to my stash. Been wanting one since I started doing some lanyard stuff.

Can't help with anything on it, but did want to pay compliments.

These were sold by Smoky Mountain Knife Works. They were sold as part of a (2) knife set. What is the going price for a NIB set?
